YOUR ROLE IN THE CAFE
Through the cafe, you will have a say in issues that affect you. During meetings, invited researchers will consult with you on how they should conduct studies, go forward with research and more, and will use your advice to take the next steps with the people this will effect in mind.
You can get involved as much, or as little as you would like to! We try to run at least one café session a month, and hope to hold training and development sessions every quarter. We also advertise additional paid consultation and co-production opportunities. In these consultation sessions, you will learn about current research into the mental health of young people, and give your feedback on the projects. This feedback will help to shape the study, and you can have real impact on the research at hand.
There are also opportunities to get involved in our 11-15 café as a research volunteer: this would involve helping to run sessions such as taking notes and monitoring the chat box. With this, you will also take part in the Safeguarding Children level 1 NHS training.
If you’re interested in getting involved in creating content for our blog, social media, and newsletter, please do get in touch!
Your role in the group will be crucial, and we feel it should be recognised as such. See below for the benefits of joining!
